WHY THIS, WHY NOW

An intimate, invitation-only gathering that turns a season of gathered stories into a room full of intergenerational conversation, and celebrates the women who quietly build the systems that hold our communities together.

Least recognised, most active

Across Africa, women, and grandmothers especially, are one of the most active and least recognised forces in community generosity. They give time, wisdom, care and leadership, season after season, usually without acknowledgement.

Where the stories come from

Through the Grandmothers of Generosity campaign, and our partnership with CivSource Africa in Uganda, we gathered those stories and captured them in the #GoGrandMa podcast. Civil society leaders, grandmothers themselves, and young people, all in their own voices.

What the evening does with them

This listening party takes those stories into a beautiful room in Abuja and uses them to open a live conversation about the systems women build, and about the value older women bring to local giving.

HEAR A LITTLE OF IT FIRST

A soundbite from the #GoGrandMa podcast. The full episode plays in the room on 7 November.

THE SYSTEMS WOMEN BUILD

A short, intergenerational panel of high-achieving women. Three voices, three generations, one stage. Tap a card to read the seat.

Then one question, asked of all three: what does it actually mean to build a system?
